Ride your music. Audiosurf is a music-adapting puzzle racer where you use your own music to create your own experience. The shape, the speed, and the mood of each ride is determined by the song you choose. You earn points for clustering together blocks of the same color on the highway, and compete with others on the internet for the high score on your favorite songs. Audiosurf on Steam includes The Orange Box soundtrack, integrated with the game to enable "Still Alive" surfing and more. In addition, Audiosurf is one of the first titles to leverage the recently announced Steamworks, offering full support for the Steam Achievements that appear on Steam Community profile pages. I can see anyone coming back to this again and again over the next few years, and that's more than enough to justify the peanuts they're asking for Audiosurf.

Worth Playing
The game is simple, it is good, it includes the Orange Box soundtrack, and it's a 10-dollar title that will outlast many 50-dollar games. No more words are necessary; only action is needed.

The game is simple, addictive, and fun, and the way the track moves and shakes to the beat of the music will keep your attention much better than most casual games.

IGN AU
The basic fusion of the core puzzle gameplay and the dynamic spin that the music applies to this is delightfully successful in itself, but is stretched even further by a drive for perfection.

As any addicting game goes, you can lose hours in its flashy presentation or just play a few songs before going to bed at night. Either way you will get your moneys worth.

While the game at its heart may be simple, and the presentation equally so, AudioSurf’s near perfect melding of music and gameplay guarantees your fiver will be well spent. That’s right – a fiver.

Game Positive
Audiosurf is an experience unlike any other, and at very least deserves kudos for that. The best part is the game is only $10, and that's a great value for what you get.

Cheat Code Central
The arcade style of gameplay in which the difficulty increases to make new levels more challenging is going to bore the novelty seekers, but hardcores will appreciate the virtually unlimited replay value, the two-player mode, and the online leaderboard.

Pelit (Finland)
A very relaxing music game where you pilot a futuristic vehicle and race different tracks. You can add your own music into the game and the songs will be transformed into new racing tracks, so you will always have plenty of different types of tracks. The game mechanics and graphics are pretty simple, which is a bit disappointing. [May 2008]

A game that almost anyone with a love of music will enjoy. [Apr 2008, p.122]

GameCritics
Of all the games in this feature, Audiosurf is the one most reassuringly rich in innovation and potential, and proves beyond question that plastic instruments and pricey downloadable content are not the be-all and end-all of the rhythm action genre.

The Onion (A.V. Club)
Audiosurf takes the other approach: It breaks down your mp3s and lets you play a game on top of them, in the form of a spaceship that has to race on a winding track while stars explode at the sound of a hi-hat.

At the very worst, it's an ingenious multimedia toy that'll have you dusting off the untouched corners of your MP3 collection for a few happy evenings. But for those twitching fingers that still enjoy the thrill of the high score, Audiosurf has the potential to become a bite-sized obsession thanks to its quick fix gameplay and infinite musical possibilities.

Anonymous Asshat gave it a10:
When I bought this game, I was expecting about four minutes of casual happiness and excitement followed by years of never playing it. But this game lasts just as long as your mp3 collection, mine, being large, made this game always enjoyable and exciting. It is more than worth the measly 10 dollars that they are selling it for. I wholeheartedly reccomed it.

Kelvin gave it an8:
Very nice game. You start seeing the music a lot differently once you play this.

Slava G. gave it a10:
Tried out the trial, now all I can think is about buying it. So simple but yet unique.

Valentin L. gave it a9:
This game is just awesome. Really addictive, the concept is unique and ingenious. So entertaining to play with your favorite songs, sing them along during the race, and enjoy the game. Short loading time make the game quick to play and allow to have funtime within a minute for the last of song. Nicework.

Chris H. gave it a7:
This is a fun game in short bursts - I enjoyed being able to play the game whilst listening to tracks from my favourite bands, like Flesh Eating Foundation, at the same time. But it is overall simply an MP3 player with legs -pretty legs mind.

Lulz L. gave it a10:
LOVE IT! I also love how people are complaining "waahhh it's a whole 10 dollars!!! WAHHH!!" Sure its not the best game on earth but it evens out with the CHEAP price (please some one tell me how 10 $ is alot?).

Eugene Z. gave it a9:
It's a fun game especially if you have good songs on your PC.
